Terms of Service & Privacy Policy

These documents govern use of the Work Reserve platform by member businesses in Brisbane and surrounding regions.

Terms of Service

1. About Work Reserve

Work Reserve is a peer continuity network connecting vetted one-person trade and service businesses. Approved members are grouped into small local "benches" of peers in the same trade, who can cover each other's client work during illness, injury, or overload. Work Reserve currently services Brisbane and surrounding regions, across a defined set of founding trades, with plans to expand over time.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By applying to join, or by using the Work Reserve platform once approved, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy below.

3. Eligibility

Work Reserve is available to operators of an existing business (sole trader or company) holding a valid ABN, operating in an eligible trade and service area, and able to provide evidence of current insurance appropriate to their trade. Work Reserve may decline any application at its discretion.

4. Application and vetting

Applicants submit a short questionnaire covering business details, ABN, time in business, contact information, insurance status, service area, trade category, and a short bio. Work Reserve aims to respond within one business day. Approval is not guaranteed and is at Work Reserve's discretion, following reference checks and insurance verification.

5. Membership and fees

Any membership or transaction fees that apply are set out separately and provided to you at sign-up. Work Reserve may change its fees from time to time with reasonable notice to members.

6. Your bench

Once approved, you are placed into a bench — a small group of vetted peers in your trade and local area. Bench composition may change over time as members join, leave, or are reassigned.

7. Using the platform

Communication between bench members — including cover requests, acceptances, and job coordination — must take place through the Work Reserve platform. Cover requests are posted with job and client details, and a bench member may accept or decline. Accepted cover jobs are confirmed and recorded through the platform.

8. No guarantee of cover

Work Reserve facilitates connections between members but does not guarantee that a bench member will accept any given cover request, nor guarantee the standard, quality, or outcome of work performed by a covering member.

9. Insurance and liability

Members must hold and maintain their own insurance appropriate to their trade. Work Reserve checks that a valid policy is current at the time of vetting but does not provide insurance, is not an insurer, and does not guarantee a policy remains current between checks. Work Reserve is not a party to any work performed between a member and their client, or between bench members during a covered job, and accepts no liability for the quality, safety, or outcome of that work.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Work Reserve's liability to any member arising from use of the platform is limited. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Circumvention

Members must not use connections made through Work Reserve to arrange cover work outside the platform on an ongoing basis in order to avoid platform fees. Repeated circumvention may result in suspension or removal from your bench.

12. Member conduct

Members agree to keep their profile information accurate and current, to respond to cover requests professionally and in good time, and to conduct themselves professionally toward other bench members and clients.

13. Suspension and termination

Work Reserve may suspend or remove a member for breach of these terms, failed or lapsed insurance verification, substantiated conduct complaints, or non-payment of fees.

14. Intellectual property

The Work Reserve name, branding, and platform content remain the property of Work Reserve. Members retain ownership of their own business content submitted to the platform.

15. Dispute resolution

Disputes arising between bench members regarding covered work are primarily the responsibility of those members to resolve. Work Reserve may assist at its discretion but is not obligated to arbitrate individual disputes.

16. Changes to these terms

Work Reserve may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

17. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia.
